About

This is the official website of the Upper Arlington Golden Bears Ice Hockey program in Upper Arlington, Ohio. The program was formed in 1977 and plays Varsity and Junior Varsity level ice hockey within the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and the Greater Ohio Hockey League (GOHL). The team provides students of Upper Arlington High School the opportunity to compete in and to experience the great sport of ice hockey at the highest levels of high school competition.

In 2003 the Upper Arlington Golden Bears became a founding member of the Capital Hockey Conference (CHC) and is the Conference’s oldest OHSAA team. The CHC consists of 18 schools from the Columbus, Cincinnati and Springboro region. Since the CHC’s inception, the Golden Bears have won six regular season titles (’04,’06,’07,’12,’15,’20), three CBJ Cup titles (20,21 and '24), and have been a state semi-finalist (Frozen Four) four times (06, 07, 21 and 22).

Starting in the 2023-24 season, the Upper Arlington Golden Bears Ice Hockey also joined the Greater Ohio Hockey League (GOHL), an eight-team statewide high school hockey league. The GOHL include some of the top programs in the Central Ohio, Toledo and Cleveland regions. The Golden Bears maintain dual membership in OSHAA - CHC and GOHL and compete for the CBJ Cup, GOHL Championship, as well as in the annual OSHAA district and statewide Championship tournament.

Our organization works diligently each year to develop players to meet their full potential while competing at the highest levels of high school hockey and representing the Upper Arlington Ice Hockey program with pride and dignity, on and off the ice.
