Ice Bear Skills Camp
We're pleased to invite you to the Ice Bear Skills Camp!! ...Our hockey skills training camp offering to complement Speed Week!! (our skating focused camp, now in its 6th year!)
The skills camp provides an opportunity for Future Ice Bears hone their stick & puck hockey skills with fellow UA players while being introduced to the "UA way"!
They'll learn key, fundamental skills and techniques just as they are coached and instructed within the UA Hockey high school program. They'll begin developing the habits that will make them successful in tryouts and as high school teammates!
Attendees will be instructed by coaches and UA Hockey players as they work in small groups (5-6 players) to refine and learn new skills to further their hockey development.
This year we will also have an added "Try Goalie!" session after the 3-day skills camp. If you are a goalie or have considered it, join us for some goalie-specific drills and training.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much skill do I need for Skills Camp?
All levels of experience are welcome! We'll do our best to group players with others of similar hockey experience or grade levels and our coaches and players will deliver age and skill-level appropriate instruction.
How many skills are packed into Skills Camp?
UA Hockey gets in the corners and hits hard and fast! Our coaches and players will fill both sessions with a fast-paced, station-based practice, demonstrating and then practicing skills in small groups. But more importantly we're planting seeds and sending players on their way with drills and skills they continue practicing and putting to use as they grow! Our goal is to provide an intense.... and intensely fun skills session!
What's the best part of Skills Camp?
Ask 5 players, you may get 5 answers! There's a lot of fun to be had. But they'll all agree the chance to skate together with fellow-Ice Bears, classmates, and future teammates, along with the opportunity to work with the HIGH SCHOOL guys who were once in their smaller skates.... that's what makes this once-a-year event an invaluable (and fun!) summertime experience!
(Oh, and they hand out prizes each day!)
