The Endless Summer of Hockey Ends
Every summer the UA Hockey players work hard to prepare for the upcoming season. No breaks taken, no exceptions made in a year they brought home a state championship! Such achievements and honors are earned in the weight room, on summer-ice, and by working together and becoming a team long before the first puck drops.
This summer over 160 hockey players in our community ranging from 3rd to 12th grade came out to participate in team training activities and opportunities hosted for our Future Ice Bears. Players from 3-8th grade participated in Pond Hockey, Speed Week, and our first ever UA Hockey Skills Camp as they made new friends and built relationships with future teammates!
High school players - both returning and incoming - participated in a consistent training regimen in the weight room with strength and conditioning coach, Brandon Spickler, and hit the ice with Coach Hagkull and the rest of the coaching staff for three training camps and summer scrimmages against Central Ohio opponents.
The Future Ice Bears program and summer training events have been a longstanding components of the UA Hockey program. They are geared towards building the team -- the team that will play next season and the team that will play for many seasons afterwards.
As the summer wraps-up and student athletes return to the classroom, the Golden Bears set their eyes on the 2025-26 season. Follow them at UAHockey.com and on social media. GO BEARS!!
